Course Selection 2024-25

 

If you filled out the Google form you will receive a response by July 5. Please don't call or email the school regarding course changes.

 

Incoming Grade 11& 12's 

Student schedules for the 2024-25 school year are now available on the MyEd portal.  Student schedules will not be printed. 

 

There will be no student-booked course change appointments this June.  Instead, counselors will review student requests using the Google Form. Course change requests will be only considered on: 

  • Graduation requirements 
  • Balance (a mix of academic and elective courses each semester) 
  • Post-secondary required courses

 

Our timetable is very tight, with little room for movement. Making a course change will impact your schedule, and may result in the loss of a preferred elective. Not all course change requests will be possible. We cannot make changes to student schedules based on the following

  • Teacher requests
  • Friend requests 

 

If you notice a course in your timetable that you didn’t select, this could be because: 

  • You did not select 8 different courses and 2 alternates  
  • Your selected alternates were not available
  • There is a conflict with when certain courses run (some courses only run once per year)

 

Responses to requests will be made by July 5, 2024, via the email used in the Google Form. Please check this email regularly, as changes made in MyEd will not appear on the student/family portal until mid to late August.

 

If you will not pass a course that is required for graduation, contact your counsellor or complete the Google Form to let us know, and we will place it in your schedule for next school year.  

 

This is a great time to review your graduation status update on MyEd.  

 

Counsellors will be available the last week of August to meet with students regarding course changes.  Appointments can be booked starting mid-August on hss.schoolappointments.com for Grades 11's and 12's only.
